AIGA Jacksonville Lunch Series | Jefferson Rall

Economic downturns, corporate politics, cold clients, presidential elections, technology wars, terrorists, fuel costs, sustainability, and not to mention, the outright competitive nature of advertising and design… all can derail even the most confident player.

The environment will always vary. One factor can help steady the bus. The work.

Jefferson gave a great talk about staying creative and letting go of all the things that don’t matter in design. We’ve put together some of the materials from the talk as well as some pics of the event. Hope this helps any designers out there looking to get out of their rut.

Favorite quote of the talk:
“nothing takes the place of persistence: Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination win; even the successful press on.”
